Possible solutions:
- Secure a [Sniper Rifle of Marksmanship] and fire wildly into the air in hope of taking down the errant pigeon and save the last scraps of the article.
- Lay a trail of [Soft Banana Bread] crumbs which allow you to trick that very same pigeon to come back with the article in its stomach... Where upon you grab it, squeeze it* and spend the next six months reconstructing the article from hundreds of tiny fragments.
- Face the facts, the article you were trying to find was probably not worth your time and energy anyways, especially if all you were doing was typing random URLs in the hope that you would stumble upon an article worth reading.
- Gnomish grief counselling is available to help you get over the shock and discomfort that comes from trying to find something only to have your efforts wasted.
- Grief counselling no good? Try joining the Ironforge Foreign Legion, see interesting places (Northrend), meet interesting... things (Mostly undead) and get killed by them (Mostly frost wryms).
