Military Council introduce new voting system
Council removes itself directly from the application process

The Military Council, now a year old, has seen in its time numerous crises, and has also been present at many of Azeroth’s front lines: from the controversial Battle to Icecrown (is there a more specific name for this? E.g. “Operation Whatever-It’s-Called. Otherwise, there’s been lots of fighting in Icecrown), led by Commander Coragon Havencrest, to the Siege of Ulduar, led by noted explorer Taminak Silverthorn. However, with applications always on the increase from numerous Alliance military units, the Council lacked time to expand on real isssues – until a recent development intended to change that.

Archmage Numenoria Elgaer’mir of the Kirin Tor has put forth a new application system and, with the aid of the Council itself, criteria and positions were decided upon. By the meeting in July, after much debate, the proposals were completed.

With the new system the Council removes itself directly from the application process, instead nominating an official to oversee applications in relation to the debated criteria. This administrator will be changed every three months. The Council appointed the first, a Grenadier Noriam of the Gnomish Tinker’s Guard, whose first job was to interview the members who no longer had any control over military forces.

These non-military members who have previously sat on the council were offered an advisory role, if they managed to pass the interview and could offer the Council a measure of experience in relevant fields.

We have provided a full list of the criteria:

1. All members agree upon a mutual defensive pact.
2. The organisation must have a minimum of ten able
3. The ability to conduct military operations and deploy men in battle.
4. The organisation cannot harbour members or subgroups in opposition to criteria one, meaning enemies either of the Grand Alliance or any other groups represented upon the Military Council. In addition it cannot harbour undead that have not sworn allegiance to the Grand Alliance.
5. To be willing to operate within the common standard of military co-operation and chain of command.
6. The members of the Council should seek to behave honourably in combat, withstanding from rape, looting and slaying of prisoners of war.

These criteria are retroactive, meaning that any current member that should fail to fulfil them will have their membership questioned. The commanders, advisers and other Council members now must wait and see if these new regulations ease the running of the Military Council.
