he party apparently travelled further into Durotar to meet with
representatives of the Horde in an unspecified location. Mayor
Robertson began talking with the assembled Horde diplomats, consulting
them over peace within Tarren Mill, when a bullet from an unknown
sourde pierced a Sin'dorei present in the meeting in his shoulder. This
resulted in tempers flaring on both sides, with accusations flying
between translators as to who was responsible for the unwarranted
attack, which eventually resulted in a short skirmish between each
parties armed guards. During the fraccas Garth and his Translator were
moved to a 'safer' place.
While waiting for the situation to
cool off, Mayor Robertson was presumably met by his killer, who at this
time is still unknown to an ongoing Alliance investigation. As the
brawl between the Horde and Alliance subsided the Mayor was found to be
missing. A quick search of the area found the lifeless corpse of Mayor
Robertson crumpled on the floor of a tumbledown orc shack, his skull
brutally caved in with an unspecified weapon. The translator was
missing.
This single attack proved too much to bear for some, and many citizens
began to make plans to leave the municipality. Due to this, Garth
Robertson, appointed Mayor of Southshore, left the rebuilding of the
town and headed to Durator to bargain with the Horde diplomats for some
respite, but failed to return. Days passed, and news returned that the
brave Mayor had become another casualty of Horde aggression.
Only
short weeks ago Garth Robertson travelled in secret to the ruins of
Tiragarde Keep in Kalimdor. There he waited for his guard, a Commander
Leopold Proodsword of the Remnants, a few other military diplomats and
a photographer to 'commemorate' what Mayor Robertson had high hopes for
being the first step in a new beginning for relations between the two
factions. The following day the meeting took place, one which would
prove to be his last.
The Mayor's remains were ferried home for burial. Commander Proodsword
has for the time been taking control of Southshore, along with the aid
of the local Magistrate. Understandably tensions in Southshore are now
running higher than ever, though in a somewhat different manner. Locals
are now chosing to remain in Southshore out of loyalty to their
deceased civic leader. Able-bodied citizens have been heard to be
contemplating some form of bloody reprisal against Tarren Mill for what
they see as yet another example of why the Horde are utterly
duplicitous, cowardly and without nobility. There has also been a rise
in local applications to join the Southshore militia forces.
While
this was not the intention of the good Mayor Robertson, he has in death
managed to unite the populace in Southshore. A memorial has been
erected in the town hall to his memory. The Alliance Herald joins the
people of this vulnerable region in mourning the loss of a brave and
noble man.
