s the Alliance push victorious across the land, the chances of winning
at sea have increased. The 'Hopebearer', a battleship has begun
construction within the harbour of Stormwind. The Hopebearer will
become a new flagship for the Stormwind Navy, led by the Admiral
Eldarian Silverheart.
Volunteers gathered at the docks on the night of 20th of June. Workers looking for pay, for food and something to do in the city all convened; men and women of all Alliance races, with paint brush and hammer in hand. Gazing down on the crowd was Garob Stoutanvil, of the Azerothian Labor Union. A group made up of "all races, genders and kind" coming together as one and working as a united force. It was with his skill and leadership that a deal was struck with the Admiral in which the labour force and volunteers would work as one to begin the construction and the ceremonial painting of the dragonbone, the backbone of the ship.
Garob stood above the crowd and said that the Hopebringer would be a "monster of lumber and metal, to carry the newest technology and the most advanced weapons", and with these words the workers began. Volunteers painted the numerous planks of the finest wood in the ceremonial colours, the dwarven members of the Labour Union overseeing and doing their share of the work. After the wood had been painted and joined to form the backbone of the ship a feast was held to celebrate the future victories and the work of the labour force.
The ship's primary job will be to bolster the Alliance advantage at sea, against enemies such as the Kvaldir raiders and their long-boats, which have been seen attacking numerous coasts. Alongside this they will be transporting the Alliance's soldiers to the front, being able to withstand any suprise attacks from the Scourge.
The Hopebearer will provide the Alliance with a well needed advantage on the icy waters of Northrend and provide us with yet more victories against the Lich King and his undead forces.
With
time to spare in his busy schedule Garbo Stoutanvil, the Union
representative of the ship building, spared me a few minutes for a
short interview:
Name and business?
Garob Stoutanvil. Personnel o' th' Azerothian Labor Union.
And could you explain to the readers what the union is?
Tis' a workers union created ter increase the efficiency o'certain tasks...
Tailors, carpenters, masons y'name it.
Right, and what exactly was the task and how will it benefit the wider community?
This
task wis'ter create a new flagship fer th' Royal Navy. It'll 'elp th'
Alliance in nae war 'gainst the undead scourge in the North.
And
what was done today, presuming you didn't build a whole ship in one
day and could you expand on what the ship is tasked with?
Garob laughs, he peers at me and continues to speak.
Wael terday, we mounted the foundation logs tergether. This first
steps mostly a ceremony ter celebrate the beginning o' the work. Yer
paint the foundation logs in nae red an'ave a grand feast after they've
lodged together.
What the ship will be tasked with is entirely
up to the navy. We're equippin' it with th' most advanced weapons
available, sah I reckon it eill be made use o' tha' way.
Any final words about this venture and task that lays ahead?
Weal the ship is goin' ter give th' alliance th' upper 'and in the naval battles innae North...
Thus i think th' name o' the ship th' Hopebearer, fits it quite wael.
