inferno just seconds after the bomb went off. Citizens, guardsmen and members of
the Church rush to the aid.
In a dramatic turn of events Stormwind has recently been the scene of two
bombings. The first occurred on the 5th of March, by the "Five Deadly
Venoms" shop, the other on the 7th of March. The second target was the
"Just Maces" shop, located at the Cathedral Square.
Around half past eight in the evening the first bomb went off, this time with
much more power then the bomb two days earlier. Our reporter rushed to the
scene and observed the dramatic event that unfolded.
It was a shocking sight that met our reporter. Flames roared from both the
front door and the windows. The smoke was already thick as a brick, making
people cough and faint. People on the scene were struck with horror and unable
to react during those initial moments. There was no way to enter the building
to search for possible wounded or dead, the fire drove back any attempt to
enter the building. Then as guardsmen and members of the Silver Hand arrived at
the scene, people realising the immediate threat to the nearby buildings began
to form a bucket chain. Both the Cathedral of Light and the Orphanage nearby were
doused to prevent the fire spreading further.
With such possible threats in addition to the damage already done, quick action
was needed. Nearby houses were evacuated and buckets were fetched from the
nearby buildings. A bucket brigade was organised but the fire was not under
control just yet. The initial damage done to the building along with the fire
caused it to collapse, leaving the street filled with rubble, ash and smoke
filling already sore throats.
It
was something as odd as Gnomish gardening tools that saved the day. A Tinkers
Guard passing through town on his mechanostrider was able to use his built-in
gardening hose to help douse the flames. The fight to kill the fire was,
however, a long and draining one. In fact, the square's fountain was drained
dry just as the last embers went out in the ashes
The following investigation found no victims inside the shop. Oddly enough
there were no witnesses to the initial explosions, leaving the guards clueless
to the madman's, or possibly terrorist's, identity. Captain Gimdal Stoutaxe was
however able to provide some further insight to the case. Though the guards
have no suspects, he agreed that it is likely the two bombings may be linked.
Furthermore the lack of witnesses points to a professional and well-planned
hit. Confronted with this theory the Captain observed, "Bombers who donna'
plan do nae' live to plant new bombs."
However, the Captain could confirm that neither of the two shops have been
known to have financial issues or disputes, or have any known link to organised
crime. With so few clues, the guards face a difficult task, but as always we
have faith in their abilities.
Let us pray for a swift resolution to the question of who set these explosives,
since it is a fearful thought that any man with any motive might so easily
destroy so great a part of the city, and get clean away with it: assisted, no
doubt, by the free exchange of explosives and dangerous chemicals wherever one
seeks them; therefore we might make this an occasion to revise the laws
concerning these substances, so that their easy passage might somehow be
obstructed, and the city be better protected.
