Peredal Industries Ad
« on: September 09, 2009, 09:55:29 PM »
Now, I think it's only right that Perry should be our flagship advertiser (think of all the pagespace Sky gets in Murdoch newspapers ;) ). Since Perry has fingers in so many pies I think something akin to the Newman's Own brand would be neat, because we could use the same pic over and over again for all the various things Perry peddles. Observe -

My request is, would it be possible for Dusty to produce a very simple (much like the Newman's label) grinning image of Perry? It could even be caricatured somewhat to make it even more versatile. Pop a chef's hat on him for pies, cigar in his teeth for tobacco, etc.

Quint, if Dusty can spare the time, can you provide us with a quick description of Perry's face here... all I can recall is his slightly crooked nose, his receding hairline and moustache, and the ever present crocalisk smile. I always imagined him looking a little like Timothy Spall, but Q, you're the man, so give us a clue :)

Ha, that Newman's Own thing is great.  ;D

I remember Barlowe did a sheet of pictures of Perry's different facial expressions - if he could scan those in, that might be a good reference. Here's a version Avari drew.

Perry looks kind of like Avari's picture, but with a rounder head, a chubbier face, a smaller nose and a short beard and sideburns (see here), though the moustache is spot on.

Some notable features: the aforementioned crooked nose (from a fight in his youth), his unusually black hair (dyed to hide the greying) and the crocolisk grin.

If you want me to write the text for some Zacharias Industries products, do let me know. In fact I think I'll do some anyway! Many of them will probably feature in the new Blunderer - having got Photoplus working again I've started production on a new issue - but I see no reason why the same adverts wouldn't crop up in different papers.

That tagline on the Newman's site "Shameless Exploitation in the name of the Common Good"... surely we can come up with a Perry version of that ;D

Something using 'shameless exploitation'...

I suppose he should have some kind of motto...

As for adverts, here's one I made just now (should this go in a new topic in the Advertising section?):

'Lord Perry's Victory Gin

a Zacharias Industries product

"A rousing good beverage to toast to our brave soldiers."

Our patented formulae uses home-growne ingredients from West Fall & fruit from the Exotic South Seas. Those of Discerning Taste agree that Lord Perry's Victory Gin is a victory for quality, and a victory for your pockets.

A portion of all proceeds will go to Veterans & Widows of Alliance campaigns abroad.'
