TERROR IN THE MISTSea Vrykul sighted on a mist-enveloped Island in the North Sea
Following the unveiling of the latest chapter in the Argent Tournament, Vrykul longboats have been sighted in force off the coast of Icecrown, on a misty island dubbed ‘Hrothgar’s Landing”.
These marine menaces have caused problems for the Alliance elsewhere in Northrend; Especially in the Borean Tundra and the Howling Fjord. They’ve proven to be as merciless as their land-dwelling brethren, often tearing down entire Tuskarr villages and slaughtering their inhabitants; adventurers are often called in only afterwards to hold back the invaders or to stave off the pillaging.
As supplies are ferried by the Silver Covenant and Sunreaver mage castes on ships to the Tournament, the vrykul unleash dangerous kraken creatures upon the boats, and send in boarding parties to slaughter the sitting-duck sailors. The entire fiasco has cost the Argent Tournament quite dearly, scrambling champions and the likes to go out into the wilds and bring back food for both the bizarre creatures for the coliseum and to feed its expanding workforce.
Shrouded in characteristic mist, the vrykul seem to be coming from Hrothgar’s Landing, a previously unnoticed mountainous island which clearly used to harbour a Tuskarr fishing village. Like their heinous kin in the Tundra and the Fjord, they are currently pillaging the peaceful Tuskarr’s supplies and building materials, and also stashing stolen goods from the supply ships throughout the ruins.
Left unchecked this new threat could spread and threaten other supply routes; the Silver Covenant has already issued a call to arms against them for all able-bodied champions.
