For those of you who don't know me...
Maylna Constantine is based on the sort of mentality and ethics of a Victorian mill owner, he's a gruff individual who is vain and stubborn. He's also incredibly old fashioned in his thinking, though his escapades with Chit and various other women have done a lot to change his mind. As an employer he's always pushing his reporters to greater and greater efforts, though he does feel affection for them all.
In Maylna's past - during one of the great wars Maylna was conscripted from the Propaganda department into a desperate position in the front line, where he was witness to a horrific battle. During the fighting he ended up crushed beneath fallen bodies, though the battle pasted over him leaving him trapped but relatively unharmed. Unfortunately the Death Knights and Ghouls that inevitably follow big battles found him, one Death Knight, who could feel his life under the pile of bodies lifted him out - draining him of life before being distracted by another soldier, almost dead who charged to save Maylna. Unfortunately, by the time the Death Knight had released him it had already taken from Maylna 50 years of his life...
So, Maylna is a young man trapped in a body which is rapidly aging.
