Miss Southshore? :o

The place is a dump overrun with Murlocs ;)

Then again, I guess there's nowhere in WoW that's just nice and picturesque and lends itself to swimsuit contests.

Does make me think though... a Miss Azeroth contest. Entrants of all races, usual categories of special talents, personal oration, evening dress, swimsuit, etc. Crown a Miss Stormwind, Miss Ironforge, Miss Gnomeregan, Miss Teldrassil, Miss Exodar, and then finally select a Miss Azeroth. Plenty of chances for behind-the-scenes roleplay shenanigans, vote rigging, kidnap, etc. (not to mention the Horde perhaps not liking the Alliance claiming Miss Azeroth as their own and attempting to muscle in on it all, or/and a demand for a Miss Acherus, and a dozen other things that could happen) and a big four-page Herald pictorial ;D

That could be a really fun, lighthearted realm event... no serious drama, just a little fun in every respect... where outright conflict and violence takes a backseat to at the very worst Dick Dastardly-style cheating. The server needs one, face it... something that isn't all death and destruction.

Well, it was a fun event to host and I have been pushing it back for weeks. We got a good crowd and a fair few Rpers up to watch it. Perhaps some one could interview Miss Southshore for Issue 4 and do it like the whole 'Page 3' thing.

Miss Southshore thinks the Alliance Armies are doing a grand job!

or

Miss Southshore believes that Ashenvale should be all elven!

Girls just wanna have fun!

Last month on the eighteenth, some of the finest specimens on Azeroth came together for the Miss Southshore 28Lc (Lotharian Calendar) competition. Beautiful women ranging from ebony skinned Stranglethornese to pale Lordaeronian’s met up at Southshores very own Town Hall to compete for the title of “Miss Southshore 28Lc”. Competition was fierce and the involved Maiden’s ready to battle for ultimate victory, one of the townsfolk who attended was reported to have said “Heads will roll”.

The competition was judged by the Mayor of Southshore, Garth Robertson and two other judges selected by the Mayor, the Commander Leopold Proodsword of the “Lordaeron Remnants” regiment and Archmage Numenoria Elgaer’Mir of the Kirin Tor. Many citizens from the local region attended the event along with people from all over the civilized world (ruling out the Horde).

The contestants were called in one by one and first gave a demonstration by walking up and down the hall in casual clothes. We saw some very unique outfits including examples of the presently fashionable “Loose fitting” dresses and the “Empire Silhouette” which generally do not require a corset for the clothing set to be complete. It’s rather obvious that High Elven style is still very important when it comes to Human fashion, opposing the traditional more conservative figure dominated by a corset and tight dress.

Next up was the Swimwear demonstration where the contestants showed us their aquatic attire; many wore the exotic “Bikini” while others opted for more unique options such as wearing a fur top and shorts. Finally was the oral activity where contestants put on their best clothes and gave a speech, each answering a question from one of the judges. Surprisingly many of the speeches included anti-Horde rhetoric which went down well with many of the audience and some of the Judges.

After all the contestants were called in at once and the Judges revealed their votes, the Mayor voted for Larra Saldean, the Commander for Sharein Ti’jah and the Archmage for Sharein Ti’jah making Miss Ti’jah the winner of Miss Southshore 28Lc! The audience applauded and several images were captured by Gnomish supersnapper engineers of the winner and the other contestants. Sadly some supporters of Miss Saldean began to feel disgruntled by the victory of Miss Ti’jah causing them to make accusations at the Judges of corruption, however overall this was a good day for Southshore and for fashion.

If this one is to be put in the same one as the Mayors death, perhaps noting it in the text would be ideal.

Southshore Hosts New Annual Beauty Contest

In the middle of last month some of the finest female specimens on Azeroth came together for the Miss Southshore 28Lc (Lotharian Calendar) competition. A bevvy of beauties, ranging from dusky-skinned Stranglethornese to porcelain Lordaeronians, met up at Southshores very own Town Hall to compete for the title of “Miss Southshore”. Competition was fierce and the involved maidens made ready to battle for ultimate victory in a contest so fierce one of the townsfolk in the crowd was heard to say that “heads will roll”.

The competition was judged by the late Mayor of Southshore (making this contest hosting his final civic action before his senseless murder in Durotar scant days later), Garth Robertson and two other judges selected by the Mayor: the Commander Leopold Proodsword of the 'Lordaeron's Remnants' retinue and Archmage Numenoria Elgaer’Mir of the Kirin Tor. Many citizens from the local region attended the event along with people from all over the civilized world, naturally ensuring the presence of the brutish harridans of the Horde were strictly off the list of contestants and celebrants.

It’s rather obvious that High Elven style is still very important when it comes to Human fashion, opposing the traditional more conservative figure dominated by corset lace and tight dresses.

Next up was the Swimwear demonstration where the contestants showed us their aquatic attire; many wore the exotic, popular-in-Kezan 'Bee-kini' while others opted for more unique options such as wearing a fur top and shorts. Finally was the oratory round, where contestants put on their best clothes and gave a public speech by answering a question from one of the judges. Unsurprisingly many of the speeches included anti-Horde and highly patriotic rhetoric, which went down well with many of the audience and some of the Judges.

Sadly some supporters of Miss Saldean began to feel disgruntled by the victory of Miss Ti’jah causing them to make accusations against the judges of obvious bias, however these naysayers were eventually won over and this was indeed a good day for the reputation of Southshore and for ladies fashions within our grand Alliance.

<Made a few tweaks, made the nod about the Mayor getting snuffed, and actually made it look like Perry's pen had been round a couple of bits of it ;) >
